Privacy Policy
Kaikai KOKO is a food delivery service in Port Vila, Vanuatu. This policy explains what information we collect when you use this website or order from us, what we do with it, and the choices you have. Vanuatu does not currently have a general data-protection law; we handle your information fairly and only for the purposes below regardless.
What we collect
When you place an order we collect what is needed to deliver it:
- your name and mobile number
- your delivery zone and a description of where to bring the food (gate, landmark, building)
- an optional GPS location, only if you tap the "use my location" button at checkout
- your payment choice (cash or card at the door) and any change or note you add
- the items you ordered and the time of the order
When you contact us by phone, SMS or Messenger, we see what you send us. We do not create customer accounts and we never ask for card numbers on this site — card payments happen on the rider's terminal at your door.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- prepare and deliver your order, and to call or message you about it
- pass the delivery details to the kitchen preparing your food and to our rider
- limit abuse of the ordering system, for example by blocking fake or repeated orders
- keep basic business records, such as which orders were delivered
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.
Who sees it
Your order reaches our dispatch phone by SMS and our team by email, and the delivery details go to the kitchen and the rider.
To run the service we rely on a few providers that process data on our behalf: Twilio (SMS), Resend and Google Workspace (email), Vercel (website hosting) and Upstash (short-lived counters that limit repeat orders). These providers store data outside Vanuatu, mainly in the United States, under their own security commitments.
When you message us on Facebook Messenger, Meta's privacy policy also applies to that conversation.
How long we keep it
Order messages and emails are kept as business records and deleted or anonymised when they are no longer needed. The counters used to limit abuse expire within 24 hours. Website server logs are kept briefly for troubleshooting.
Your choices
The GPS pin is optional — a good description of your gate works just as well.
You can ask us at any time to correct or delete your order information, or to stop contacting you, using the details below. We may keep records we need for accounting or to resolve a dispute.
Children
Ordering is for adults. If you believe a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service grows. The date at the top shows when it was last changed; significant changes will be announced on our Updates page.
